Lighting and Confetti: Bellagio
There are two things to know about Bellagio's technical, A/V department. First, they can do anything you want. Second, "anything you want" is likely expensive. Not only are the materials/rental fees expensive, but the labor charges for set up/tear-down are expensive as well.
I had a difficult time picturing what the lighting would look like before the wedding despite multiple descriptions from our very patient vendors. I'll just post pictures rather than try to describe what we did.
We used amber uplighting on the walls.
We also used pin spots on the tables/flower center pieces, cake table, card table, dj, ect. I thought the pin spots on the flowers came out very well. The flowers almost glow in our pictures.

We wanted lighting that mimicked candlelight during dinner.

We used a purple wash on the rented furniture.
Later, we put a purple wash on the bar which had the unintended consequence of
turning our bartender a shade of light purple for a good part of the evening.
Luckily, he didn't seem to mind.

I thought the room looked great in person. I was a little disappointed looking at pictures afterwards because the camera flash cancels out the lighting effects. So in many of our pictures, it doesn't look like we had lighting. Later in the night, when the room became darker, this was somewhat disappointing. As it turns out, a lot of things (on the dance floor) look better in the dark. Examples of pictures taken within a few seconds, with and without flash, are below:
I really wanted confetti at the wedding. And why have little confetti poppers for the guests when, in Vegas, you can buy confetti cannons? The Bellagio didn't flinch at the request and came through big time. They mounted full size confetti cannons, like they use in nightclubs, to the ceiling. They were pretty awesome. If I had to do it again, I might give our guests the heads up rather than surprise them. First, they were very loud and a couple of the guests were startled. Also, I think I would have gotten better pictures of the confetti if people knew it was coming.
Overall, I was happy with the lighting and confetti. Its expensive, though. This would have been the first area we cut back on if we were on a more limited budget.
